Our interviews are challenging and our intensive selection process is designed to help us identify candidates with the true potential to become leaders.
We do not have a specific recruiting season and accept applications throughout the year. Our recruiting process usually takes between four and eight weeks.

Essay questions for Business Analyst
Please answer the following 2 questions below in 2-3 paragraphs not exceeding 2 pages.

1) Influencing others to take actions or make decisions is fundamental to our ability to make a difference within a client organization. Please describe a situation in which you influenced others in order to persuade and/or move them into a different direction, and what approaches you have taken and the reasons.

2) Please describe a major challenge(s) you faced in the past 5 years (different from above question). Please explain what steps you took to overcome the challenge and the lessons that you have learned that will be helpful for your development as a professional.
Essay questions for Associate (Optional)
Throught the optional essay, we wish to have a better understanding of you; the more information you provide, the better we will be able to know who you are and what potential you have.
Although we advised you how to write your resume at 'Guidelines on writing resume,' we often found ourselves to seek more information of you.
Please write one page essay to 2 questions below. The answer to each question should be a half-page long with 3~4 paragraphs.

1) What are your long-term career and life goals? Please explain the steps you have taken to reach those goals and how McKinsey fits into the plan.

2) What were the major challenges you have faced during the Ph.D.(Post-Docs) or M.D. course? Please include one of the following in your description.

- Cases where you had to influence others (i.e. superiors, colleagues) to persuade or move them into a direction, and approaches you have taken;
- Cases where you had to work as a member of a team, defining your role, building relationship and contributing to team's effectiveness; or
- Cases where you recognized the issue and took initiatives to make a fundamental change and the reasons why you took actions.
PST (Problem Solving Test)
McKinsey & Company Seoul Office administers a standardized 'Problem Solving Test' to all applicants who pass the resume screening process. The results of the test and the resume screening process determine which applicants will be offered the opportunity for an interview.
