Our clients expect an ever-increasing level of expertise and insight from their professional advisers. This need places on each of us an obligation to advance the state of management practice, our industry knowledge, and our functional expertise.
We can fulfill that obligation in many ways: by developing insight that transcends particular client situations and sharing them with colleagues; by refining skills that may benefit a number of different clients; and by drawing external, "state of the art" experts into our network so we can integrate their knowledge with our own in the interest of our clients.
Through writing articles about our knowledge, delivering speeches, and participating in professional meetings, we bring the firm's innovative management ideas to the attention of other organizations that may benefit from working with us.
My two years spent in the BA program taught me the discipline to break down and analyze problems, interact with all levels of management, and the courage to lead clients often as the most junior member of the taskforce.
