Home Careers Roles Engagement Manager
Engagement managers play an expanded leadership role on client service teams. They act as a project manager, assuming primary responsibility for structuring the problem-solving process, assigning work, coaching team members, and managing day-to-day interactions with clients.
In this role, people often choose to become more closely affiliated with an industry or functional practice - typically, because they find an area that excites them and a McKinsey practice community that they want to join. With a practice affiliation, our consultants expand their knowledge contributions while continuing to build their team and client leadership skills.
As soon as they exhibit strong partner potential, engagement managers are eligible to become associate principals.
